Job Summary: Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Novice
Seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Novice to provide high-quality patient care and support to our healthcare team.

At Houston Methodist, the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Novice position is an entry-level role that requires a Patient Care Tech (PCT) graduate, internal internship, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. As a PCA Novice, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care, respond to call lights, and maintain a clean and organized environment. You will also be responsible for documenting patient care, reporting observations and problems to the RN, and participating in teamwork to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
  
• Respond to call lights and report observations and problems to the RN
  
• Document patient care and maintain accurate records
  
• Participate in teamwork to ensure excellent patient outcomes
  
• Assist with maintaining a clean and organized environment
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
    
  • Graduate of the Patient Care Tech (PCT) program, internal internship, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
    
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month
    
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
    
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
