A manufacturing maintenance job, such as an industrial maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic, involves a variety of tasks to keep machines and equipment running smoothly:

• Routine maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machines remain operational
• Equipment repair: Fix broken or malfunctioning parts, such as mechanical components, electrical components, wires, and cables
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose minor problems and test malfunctioning machinery to determine if major repairs are needed
• Installation and assembly: Install and assemble new machines, and connect power supply wires to machines and equipment
