Job SummaryCenterPoint Energy is looking for a Lead Supplier
Diversity Analyst to join our Supplier Diversity Team, located in
Houston, TX. You will have the ability to: drive the maturation of
the Supplier Diversity Program reporting and analysis at
CenterPoint Energy. This position offers consistency, market
development, supply chain flexibility, stakeholder satisfaction and
regulatory value, and is a key driver in CenterPoint Energy's goals
of being a leader in Diversity & Inclusion. This position manages
the tracking, analysis and reporting activities of CenterPoint
Energy's Supplier Diversity program of initiatives and company
spend across the corporate footprint, ensuring the programs goals,
reports and objectives are accomplished on time. This position is
responsible for supporting the Supplier Diversity Program through
both internal and external engagement efforts.Essential FunctionsTo
be successful in this role you will: Analytics & Reporting:
- Effectively navigate internal data sources to consolidate,
track and report supplier diversity spend, key initiatives,
financials and related metrics.
- Develops, maintains and distributes reports on established
goals and metrics relative to supplier diversity scorecards,
benchmarks, program initiatives and trends.
- Reviews and interprets data sets & reports to determine
potential opportunities to enhance supplier diversity initiatives;
recommends appropriate courses of action.
- Supports the development and maintenance of a robust Tier II
diverse supplier program; to include, tracking/reporting and
benchmarking best practices within the supplier diversity
community.
- Prepares and assist with compliance reporting per General
Services Agreement, or any additional agencies that mandates
supplier diversity reporting.
- Assists with the development of marketing communications to be
shared externally, such as website content
(internet-intranet).
- Assists with internal Supplier Diversity awareness initiatives,
as measured through colleague engagement survey data. Supplier
Diversity Advocacy (Internal Stakeholders):
- Effectively coordinates with procurement specialists and other
internal team-members to identify capable diverse suppliers per
category (and region) and further, supports the RFP process and
related procurement activities to advance diversity
initiatives.
- Interfaces with purchasing buyers and business units to stay
abreast of planned sourcing opportunities.
- Provide exceptional service to the business by offering timely
solutions that ensure continuity of business operations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate
supplier diversity training. Supplier Diversity Advocacy (External
Stakeholders):
- Plans and/or assists in the planning of outreach events
intended to achieve CenterPoint Energy's supplier diversity program
goals.
- Support efforts to identify, develop and mentor diverse
business enterprises to compete for procurement and sourcing
opportunities.
- Participates in outreach activities to raise awareness of
CenterPoint Energy's supplier diversity program and
opportunities.
- E.g., tradeshows, supplier meet-greet events, conferences,
seminars, workshops, panels and presentations.
- Assists in enhancing relationships with those community leaders
and elected officials with interest in supplier diversity Education
DescriptionYour background includes:
- Bachelor's degree (will consider relevant job-related
CenterPoint Energy experience for non-degree candidates).
Experience
- Seven (7) years of experience in any of the following areas:
supplier diversity advocacy, procurement/purchasing, supply chain
management, business analytics, finance support for business,
