Overview: We're searching for relay testing technicians, transformer specialists, substation technicians and also NETA certified technicians on projects in Texas, Alabama and Kansas.
This is a full time opportunity to be part of a supportive team who promote from within, for a company who have an extensive pipeline of projects.
We are looking for an experienced Substation Technician to support a team of relay testing & transformer techs to maintain substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and switchgear.
• Perform routine inspections and testing of substation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to design and implement system upgrades and improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Respond to emergency calls and perform necessary repairs as needed.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as required.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
  Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical technology or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in substation maintenance or related electrical work.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
